It's a modern pokemon game with a gen 2 aesthetic, which is fine if that's what you want, but it is not faithful to the original crystal. Crystal Legacy is what you want for a truly faithful gen 2 experience with some modern QOL changes. Crystal Clear is largely faithful in terms of battle mechanics, but is otherwise a very different game.
